Trip Introduction

One adventure sport in Pokhara that might make you feel like a bird flying in the vast sky is hot air ballooning. In Nepal, ballooning gives stunning views of the rising sun, the Himalayan peaks, and the captivating lake in Pokhara. Only Pokhara, the city of lakes and caves, hosts the event. The distance between Pokhara and Kathmandu is 204.4 kilometers, and you may travel there by car in around 6 hours or by scenic aircraft in 30 minutes. The balloon flight will then depart from Dhanpus or Lauruk, where you can transfer.

Every morning at dawn, Nepal Hot Air Balloon Rides depart from two locations: Dhampus Village and Landruk. They fly for an amazing hour over the snow-capped mountains before landing near the banks of Mardi Khola and Hemja. Each passenger is covered by $20,000 in insurance. Except during monsoon, the journey will consist of two flights, one early in the morning and another in the afternoon (June, July, and August three months). For the most breathtaking mountain sunrise view, travel early in the day.
