Trip Introduction

Ama Yangri Trek is one of the Helambu region's lesser-known but spectacular trekking locations. Ama Yangri is located about 90 kilometers north of Kathmandu Valley and is the highest peak closest to the capital city of Kathmandu. In the Helambu Circuit trekking area, which is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Langtang National Park, is a Sherpa, Tamang, and Chhetries Settlement.

This journey is most enjoyable during the Nepalese month of Chaitra, which roughly corresponds to March or April. Hylmos from all across the region, country, and even the world come to Aama Yangri on Chaitra's full moon day. They trek to the summit of this mountain before dawn to view the sunrise as part of the ceremony. On the one hand, the lamas pay tribute to the mother protector by praying for hours, while the people enjoy butter tea, barley beer, and local wine while enjoying the sun.
