Trip Introduction

Mera Peak Climbing (6,461m/21,216ft) is an amazing adventure within the serene and remote area of Khumbu and Inkhu valley. Trekkers rarely visit these valleys. There are several routes to Mera; some of them are easy to climb while some need to cross challenging and high passes. South ridge facing North and East is considered quite tough and challenging by the majority of climbers. Northeast ridge is a truly troublesome one. North-west edge and West face is possible to climb but you should remember that access to Mera by passing through West glacier known as Khare glacier is much more challenging. Either way, climbing Mera Peak is genuinely enjoyable and rewarding since the peak is one of the most celebrated tops in Nepal.

The trek begins with a scenic flight to Lukla where you will get to witness the Everest region. From here, the journey starts as you head south to Chutanga. Journeying along the Dudh Koshi River, the climb heads to Thuli Kharka prior to making a way to Thangnak. Further, the trek moves to the highest point of the Mera La Pass (5045m). After that, the journey arrives at the Mera Peak Base Camp, which offers jaw-dropping views of the Everest and Charpate Himal ranges. The climb to the summit of the Mera Peak (6461m) is somewhat challenging and stretches across the steep snowy landscape. The highest point of the pinnacle offers beautiful views on the mountains like Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho-Oyu.
