Trip Introduction

Island peak (6,189 m) which is also known as Imja Tse, situated at the Imja Valley, is one of the incredible treks of the Khumbu region in the Himalayas of Nepal which have attracted climbers, adventurers, and ethnic enthusiasts for several years. As being one of the most popular trekking peaks, Island peak offers us magnificent views of the mighty Himalayas and does not necessarily require trained climbers but energetic, enthusiastic, determined, and physically fit climbers. 

Our journey of Island Peak climbing begins from the scenic flight over the green lush valleys from Tribhuwan International Airport (Kathmandu) to Tenzing Hillary Airport (Lukla). After that, we begin our journey by trekking to Phakding and reaching Namche Bazaar, and hiking to Everest Base Camp. Along the way we see numerous amazing landscapes, unique settlements opposed vegetations, and many more attractions which will make the journey worthwhile. Climbing peak offers the amazing view of not only Lhotse (8516m) and Nuptse (7864m) but also of other snow-capped peaks. Alongside mountains, you can be entranced with Buddhist inhabitants and a remarkable view of their monasteries. Finally reaching the Island Peak Base Camp, the wonderful mountains keep us throughout this trek.

You don’t need any professional mountaineering experience to climb Island Peak, nonetheless, a good level of fitness and the desire to push your boundaries is adequate. The experience of climbing along the Island peak will be very thrilling and challenging.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu - Altitude: 1,300m/4,264 ft

On the first day of our trip, our organization front man picks you up from Tribhuwan International Airport (Kathmandu) along you will be passionately welcomed and shifted towards tourist standard in by our private vehicle. After transfer to the hotel and freshen up, we head for a meeting at the office for discussion/briefing regarding our planned trek. 

Day 02: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla - Altitude: 2,800m/9,186ft | Trek to Phakding - Altitude: 2,652m/8,700ft | Trek: 3-4 hrs.
Meal: BLD

After having breakfast, we will be shifted to Tribhuwan International Airport by our private vehicle to board Himalayan scenic flight towards Lukla (gateway of Khumbu/Everest region). Therefore, we start our short and effortless trek downhill towards Sherpa settlement of Cheplung along following Dudh Koshi valley takes to Phakding. Finally after reaching Phakding, accommodation, and dinner will be managed at the lodge.

Day 03: Namche Bazaar - Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft | Trek: 5-6 hrs.
Meal: BLD

After enjoying breakfast, we develop our trek by leaving several unique settlements, suspension bridges and lush forests behind en route to pass official permit checkpoint (entrance to Sagarmatha National Park). After that, continuously proceeding walk towards the intersection point of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River along attempting upward hike with an opening perspective of monster Everest promotes Namche Bazaar. Day 04: Excursion trip around Namche for Acclimatization - Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft.

We are now already over 3,400 m of elevation than sea level so before climbing extra height, today we center upon acclimatization. We don't trigger our trek forward however as indicated by your want, we will plan an arrangement to investigate minor Sherpa settlements including Khumjung or climb up to old Sherpa town of Thame. On residual hours, you can hang out on web cafes and restaurants or visit all through historical centers. This night, we remain at the same hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Tengboche - Altitude: 3870m/12385 ft; | Trek: 5/6 hrs.
Meal: BLD

Triggering Namche Bazaar after breakfast, we follow awe-inspiring curvy hill slope trail holding pleasing forest, remembrance stupas and Sherpa settlements, which leads us to Kyangjumg. Day 06: Dingboche - Altitude: 4410m/14464ft | Trek: 5/6 hrs.

After attending morning breakfast, we begin our steps ahead through stone advances crossing chortens and long smaller mini walls along imja Khola to climb Pangboche. Therefore, strolling with a close perspective of mountains all through terraced fields takes to Dingboche. Day 07: Lobuche - Altitude: 4940m/16207ft | Trek: 5/6 hrs.

The trek continues with a gradual ascent toward the Thukla Pass. Along the way, you will pass memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest and nearby peaks. From the pass, the trail follows the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier before reaching Lobuche. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 08: Gorekshep and Visit Base Camp - Altitude: 5364m/17,98ft | Trek: 5/6 hrs.
Meal: BLD

After trekking alongside the Khumbu Glacier, reach Gorak Shep, the final settlement on the Everest trail. After a short rest, continue toward Everest Base Camp. Walking over glacial terrain, you will experience the dramatic ice formations of the Khumbu Glacier before reaching Base Camp. After spending time at EBC, return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Day 09: Kalapatha and back to Dingboche - Altitude: 5545m/18,192ft. | Trek: 5/6 hours
Meal: BLD

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar rewards you with one of the best sunrise views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. After descending to Gorak Shep for breakfast, the trail leads back down through Lobuche and onward to Dingboche. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 10: Chhukung - Altitude: 4730m/15,518ft. | Trek: 4/5 hours.
Meal: BLD 

Leaving the main Everest trail, the route turns east into the Imja Valley toward Chhukung. This quieter trail offers spectacular views of Island Peak and surrounding glaciers. Chhukung serves as the gateway to Island Peak climbing routes. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 11: Acclimatization and Climbing Preparation​​​​​​​.
Meal: BLD

This day is dedicated to acclimatization and technical preparation. Under the guidance of climbing experts, you will practice basic mountaineering skills, including the use of crampons, ice axes, harnesses, ropes, and fixed-line techniques. A short acclimatization hike may also be undertaken. Overnight in Chhukung.

Day 12: Island Base Camp - Altitude: 5200m/17,060ft. | Trek:5/6 hours​​​​​​​.
Meal: BLD

The trail ascends gradually along rocky and glacial terrain toward Island Peak Base Camp. Upon arrival, tents are set up, and final preparations are made for the summit attempt. An early dinner is followed by rest in preparation for the climb. Overnight in tents.

Day 13: Summit and Back to Chhukung- Altitude: 6189m/20,305ft | Trek: 8/9 hrs.
Meal: BLD

Summit day begins before midnight. The ascent involves glacier travel, steep snow slopes, and fixed ropes leading to the summit ridge. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking views of Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, and Ama Dablam. After descending safely back to Base Camp, continue down to Chhukung. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 14: Namche Bazzar | Trek: 5/6 hrs​​​​​​​.
Meal: BLD

The descent follows the Imja and Dudh Koshi valleys, retracing steps through Pangboche and Tengboche. With lower altitude and richer oxygen levels, trekking becomes noticeably easier. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 15: Lukla 
Meal: BLD

The final trekking day descends through forests and villages back to Lukla. Arrival marks the completion of the trekking and climbing adventure. A celebratory evening with the trekking crew concludes the journey. Overnight in Lukla..

Day 16: Fly Back to Kathmandu.
Meal: B

Morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. After hotel transfer, the remainder of the day is free for rest, shopping, or sightseeing. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure day.
Meal: B

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward international departure, marking the official conclusion of the Island Peak and Everest Base Camp expedition.
